On Monday 7 September 2026 we gave a talk to the Rushden Ladies group who meet in Rushden Hall.  The talk was a brief history of Rushden Museum, explaining how it started, and how it has grown.

Peter, our chairman, went on to explain how we record and care for the items donated to the museum, how we will go out and give talks to schools and groups on various subjects.  We also have group visits to the museum.

The Hearts & Soles web site can be viewed on a touch screen in the museum, and on another screen we have items from our collection.  Another screen runs a slide show of old photographs of the town.

A new experience for us over the past year has been having work-experience students from the Isebrook School in Kettering.  Isebrook is a special needs school so the students attend with a work coach.  It has been a learning curve for us but we have enjoyed it and will shortly be having another student joining us.

It was an enjoyable afternoon and the ladies gave us a generous donation for which we are very grateful.  We hope they enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did.
