New President 2016/18
At our AGM on Thursday 24th February 2016 at Rushden Hall, we were pleased to appoint our new President, Mr. Clive Wood
Clive has been involved in local history for many years. His main interest and passion for history as always been Rushden, mainly the saving of Rushden Hall through the establishment of the Rushden Amenities Society. Rushden Hall is his ‘baby’.
Certain weekends, in collaboration with the Museum, Clive gives his own unique tour of the Hall, one not too be missed.
We wish Clive all the best for his term as President of the Museum, one which we know he will enjoy and endeavour to help promote the Museum. We wish him all the best during his term of office.
New President 2014/16
At our AGM on Thursday 27th February 2014 at Rushden Hall, we were pleased to appoint our new President, Mr John Harley.
John has been involved in the community for a number of years and is best known for his services with St. Johns Ambulance Service. He has taken a keen interest in the museum over the years with support fund raising events that have been held for the museum and has also volunteered his time to help man the museum during opening hours.
In recognition of his efforts, the Commitee has appointed him to be the next President. We wish him well during his term of office.
Presidents Evening
Bruno Helsdown held his first Presidents Evening, enjoyed by Members and Friends of the Museum. A thoroughly entertaining evening was had by all on Thursday 25th October, where Peter Fields presented his talk ” At your convenience”. The talk highlighted how “The Toilet” has evolved over time. At our AGM we were pleased to appoint our new President, Mr Tony Helsdown.
Mr Helsdown, or BRUNO as he is known locally, was chosen to represent the Museum due to his endless efforts behind the scenes with building alterations.
He has also helped with fund raising during the early years. In recognition of his efforts, the Commitee has appointed him to be the next President. We wish him well during his term of office.
From 2018 to current
New President appointed. Mr William Osborne. Owner of Osbornes sports and toys in Rushden.
William has been a supporter of the museum for many years, along with his late father, Mr Jim Osborne. We are privileged that we have him as our President. He has a vast knowledge and superb toy collection that we are lucky enough to display at the museum in support of our various exhibitions.
Our Exhibition in 2021 will highlight the family business, which has just celebrated its 65th anniversary.
