Postcard

·         Black and white postcard of St. Peter’s Church

·         No. 19

·         Posted 7 AU 14

·         Sent to Miss. M. Gross, 6 Lennox Road, Worthing

·         Message – Dear Mable, Just a card to let you know we are getting along alright and we are glad you are having a good time.  It will be a bit off if you have to stop while next August.  Connie and Lucy send their Love, from Bert and Rose xxxxx

·         Notes – In 1911 Mable (Mabel) Gross lived at 17 Wentworth Road, Rushden with her parents Henry and Lucy Gross.  She had a sister, Edith Rose, who married Bert Waller in 1911.  Mabel was working as a boot machinist, so could have been in Worthing on holiday because the first two weeks in August were usually the factory holidays.  Why she might have to stay until the next August is a mystery, although war had just been declared.
