Blotter from Neville’s of Rushden

·         The business was started by William James Neville in 1908 situated on The Green

 

·         By 1914 the business was at 55 High Street next to the Palace Cinema which is on the right of the picture at the top of the page

 

·         Ross Neville, his son, was born at that address in 1915

 

·         The shop sold tobacco, snuff, cigarettes etc.

 

·         Was also a booking office for holidays and theatre trips

 

·         The stationery side sold pens, pencils, postcards and cards etc., and also gifts such as the Rushden Crest Ware

 

·         The shop closed in 1997
