On Wednesday 14 June, 2023 we were visited by members of the Clapham History Society. They arrived in Rushden late morning and had a tour of St. Mary’s Church before having lunch in the town.

St. Mary’s Church, Rushden

The plan was to do the tour of the Hall then visit the museum but owing to shortage of time the museum visit had to be abandoned. However the tour of the Hall went well, conducted by our chairman, Peter Field, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Having seen the Pemberton tombs in the church they were interested to hear about the family and the connection to Richard III and Elizabeth I.

3 of the group were able to visit the museum, but the others had to leave.
