It is with great sadness that we, at Rushden Museum, have learned of the death on Tuesday 14 February 2023 of John Harley, one of our committee members. John was our president in 2014 and 2015 and following that he joined the committee. He has been an enthusiastic member ever since.
During the winter months he enjoyed our Thursday ‘work days’ when we were packing one exhibition away and setting up a new one, especially the chips and conversation at lunch time.
John was often on duty during our opening times. He knew a lot of people and enjoyed talking and sharing his knowledge of the town. He has been unwell for a long time but would still come to the museum whenever he could. We haven’t seen much of him this winter, but we will miss him.
