The AGM, held on 7 April at Rushden Hall, went well with a very entertaining talk about Kinky Boots. We were expecting our chairman, Peter, to be in hospital but he wasn’t, so was able to attend. Work has continued during the month although most of the time has been spent on setting up the exhibition. We haven’t had any items donated to the museum during April, but cataloguing the items bequeathed to us has continued. Still a long way to go with that, and still a lot of sorting to do.

The doll which has been receiving some expert TLC has been returned to us. She still looks a bit sad but a lot better than she did before. She is over 100 years old and has obviously been well loved, so we must expect her to look a bit worn.
The new computer has been installed and is working. There are a few problems with the catalogue but mostly the users are more to blame than the computer. We will get used to it. The touch screen is still not sorted but should be working by the time we open on 3 May. Fingers crossed on that one.
The exhibition is set up, we just have the final tidying and cleaning to do. Cutting it very fine as usual. The weather forecast for Saturday is good, so let’s hope it stays that way. If it stays dry we will be OK.
