It is with great sadness that we, at Rushden Museum, have learned of the death of Clive Wood on Wednesday 29 March 2023. Clive was a founder member of Friends of Rushden Museum in 1999, and had remained a committee member ever since. He was also our president from 2016 to 2018.

Clive’s passion was Rushden Hall and in 2016 he published a book on the Hall entitled ‘Rushden Hall, Northamptonshire.’ Some of us at the museum were privileged to be involved in that project. He was always willing to talk about the Hall and twice a year we would organise for a small group to have a tour conducted by Clive.

Clive also did all our art work, and the last project he worked on for us was to design the mosaic to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

The mosaic was completed in three sections by Rushden Historical Transport Museum, Rushden Library, and Rushden Museum

Clive will be greatly missed and our condolences go to his sister and family.
