At the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum Awards ceremony, held at Holdenby House on Thursday 4 July 2019, Rushden Museum won the Best Volunteer Project category with our ‘Store Room Blitz’ project. This project, to reorganise our store room and to repack the artefacts in archival quality storage materials, was carried out over the winter with a team of volunteers led by Museum Committee members, and was funded with a grant from Nenescape Landscape Partnership Scheme. It involved checking most of the artefacts to make sure they were still in good condition, and repacking them in new boxes. This also meant updating the information on the computer. During the winter the museum is either cold, very cold or absolutely freezing so our team of volunteers were very dedicated and we would like to thank all those who were involved in this work.
