November 2025 has been another routine month with the usual work going on during our Thursday work days. On 12 November we visited Imperial Court in Duck Street, Rushden and gave a talk to some of the residents. The talk was based on a visitor to the town arriving by train, and was centred on High Street, Church Street and Duck Street. The residents all seemed to enjoy it.

Most of the exhibition has been packed away. All our small items have been dealt with, so there are just a few large items to find homes for. Will and Libby still have some things to collect but most have gone.

A few items have been donated to the museum during November, some sketches and items relating to Knight & Lawrence, boot and shoe manufacturers. These items have been catalogued, along with some of the items bequeathed to us.

Now the museum is closed for the winter we don’t have to pack everything away when we finish on Thursdays, which is a big help but means we have descended into chaos as we always do. We have also been able to put the light box up which makes taking photos much easier. Our work experience student will finish his time with us on 4 December, but we have managed to get his article finished and onto this web site. He has worked hard and we are very proud of him. His article is about A.B. P/SSX24815 Samuel Percy Head.
